This place is a fossil site of Cretaceous period of Mesozoic Era where dinosaur footprint fossil, silicified wood and plant fossil were discovered and the size of exposed sedimentary layers up to now is big scale of 60 m x 54 m and 30 meters thick.
Dinosaur fossils which have been discovered so far are: about 1800 medium and small dinosaur footprints and 73 herbivorous dinosaurs footprints. A number of silicified wood and plant fossil have been discovered and they form the layers of typical sedimentary structure such as chasm and ripple mark.
This site has rare cases in the world because carnivore footprint track which ran at the highest speed of 200 kilometers an hour appears very long. This place has been precious and academically valuable region from which we can identify the ecological environments of dinosaurs as of Cretaceous period of Mesozoic Era since 6 tracks (45 meter of the longest track) and herbivorous dinosaurs footprints have been calculated in the same layers.
This site was discovered in academic excavation of 1999 and it was initially designated as Cheonam monument No. 180 as of June 20, 2000 and later was designated as nationally designated culture natural monument No. 487 on Nov. 18, 2007.
