Origin of name
The name of Hwahaksan Mountain is named because the figure of it looks like a crane spreading its wings. It is also called as Hwanghwasan Mountain.

Because the mountain has rough and irregular sides and is bordered with Jangheung, Donghakgun, farmer rebellions, took refuge here.
